Thanks to Songza and their curated play lists I recently added Samantha Crain to my favored artist list. Like all “new” artists she has been plying her trade for several years before I first heard of her. American born with a folk rock indie sound and a girl next door look she appeals to my old 60s and 70s palette and I like the very coverable KT Tunstall-ish guitar arrangements.
Maybe not for everyone, but if you listen to any of the female singer songwriters of the past 10 years in the genre you will probably enjoy this.
